For those who may not know, Wind River is a trade name that Leupold uses to distinguish its Asian-made optics from its American-made Golden Ring optics. The otherwise fine optical performance of the Wind River 10×42 W2 would be helped considerably if the roof prisms were phase-corrected. And here, as with several other binoculars, the pop-up eyecups got bad marks for pushing down too easily. As consumers, we’d happily pay a little more to have better eyecups on this otherwise good binocular.
