For those who may not know, Leupold uses the Wind River brand name to distinguish its popularly priced Asian-made binoculars from its own U.S.-made Golden-Ring models. There are two new Wind River models: an 8×42 Porro prism, which I tested extensively and found to be very good, and a 10×50 Porro prism. Both are nitrogen-purged and completely waterproof. The objective lenses, which are the most important lenses on any binoculars, are multicoated; all of the other glass-to-air surfaces have single-layer magnesium fluoride coatings.
