Ed Zern’s first “Exit Laughing” appeared in the November 1958 issue and ran every month for more than 35 years. Zern’s humor was an improbable blend of out-of-kilter hunting and fishing yarns, obscure literary references, elaborate puns, the doings of an inexhaustible supply of bemused friends, and an unequalled skill with the English language.
