Paul Richards

Contributor

Paul Richards grew up fishing for brook and brown trout in northern New York. He’s since worked as an educator in the Canadian Arctic, the Amazon RainForest, the Galapagos Islands, and near Lake Victoria in Kenya, Africa, all places where fishing is central to the lives of the residents. He caught piranha by the boatful in the Amazon and lost a piece of his finger in the process. He now lives along the Merrimack River in Massachusetts, where, thankfully, the stripers are running again. He occasionally finds time to drop his line in the small streams he fished as a boy in the foothills of the Adirondacks.

Experience

Field & Stream is Paul’s first news story writing gig. He otherwise writes grants, short stories, and poetry.

Education

Paul got his B.A. in English/Education from Siena College. He received a certification in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from Boston University.

Fun Fact

Paul can think of nothing more beautiful in nature than a native speckled trout.
