A Boston-area family got a piscatorial gift from the heavens recently when a 14-inch striper fell out of the sky and into their yard.

From this story on WCVB in Boston:

A Milton neighborhood got quite a surprise when a fish fell from the sky shortly after dinnertime last month. Two seagulls were squawking and fighting in the sky above a Bunton Street neighborhood on June 21 when something suddenly fell into a yard, according to Wicked Local Milton. Paul and Eileen Walsh, the homeowners, said a small striped bass fell into their flowerbed. The couple’s home is more than one mile from the water. “It was like a scene from the movie ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs,'” Eileen Rose Walsh told Wicked Local.

Fourteen inches? Now I know we’re taught to never look a gift horse (or fish) in the mouth, but if they’re going to start falling from the sky, they should at least be good-sized box fish, right?
