Discussion Topic: On Extending The Deer Season

Standing corn and warm weather have combined to create lower-than-expect deer harvests across much of the Midwest and beyond (see Whitetail365 Headlines), and some hunters are calling for additional days to fill their tags. It looks like Illinois hunters are getting just that.

From WMBD/WYZZ News:
Hunters are heading back out for the second weekend of Firearm Deer Hunting Season, but DNR officials are concerned not enough deer will be harvested this year.

To ensure the deer population is thinned out enough this winter, DNR is extending its Late-Winter Deer Hunting Season [in many counties] to include December 31st through January 3rd.

Do you think your state should offer something similar?
