In July of 1971, Herbert Cutshall walked into Van’s Lakeview, a tackle shop on Nebraska’s Lake McConaughy, and slapped a 16-pound, 2-ounce walleye on the scale. It beat the state record by exactly one ounce. Not long ago, Nebraska Game & Parks shocked parts of McConaughy and found out there are some big mommas therein that will top old Herb’s record. So my buddy Gabriel Hnat and I headed west to the plains to see if we could get our names on the record books. Did we succeed? Check out the latest “Hook Shots” episode to find out. Enjoy – JC
