Judge’s Poem About Colorado River Morphed Into Rap Song

My friend over at Western Resource Advocates, whose mission “is to protect the West’s land, air, and water,” sent me a rap song performed by Jorge Figueroa, one of their water policy analysts. With beats by Tristan Giallani, the rap utilizes a poem written by Colorado Supreme Court Justice Gregory J. Hobbs about the Colorado River and its in-stream flow law.

Yes, that’s right – it’s a rap song with lyrics quoted from a supreme court justice. No matter if you like the song or not, you gotta admit this not something you hear every day. I think that’s very cool. Being a native to the state it really resonated with me and I find it quite beautiful. I had to share it with the Fly Talk readers.
