Judge's Poem About Colorado River Morphed Into Rap Song

My friend over at Western Resource Advocates, whose mission "is to protect the West's land, air, and water," sent me a rap song performed by Jorge Figueroa, one of their water policy analysts. With beats by Tristan Giallani, the rap utilizes a poem written by Colorado Supreme Court Justice Gregory J. Hobbs about the Colorado River and its in-stream flow law.

Yes, that's right - it's a rap song with lyrics quoted from a supreme court justice. No matter if you like the song or not, you gotta admit this not something you hear every day. I think that's very cool. Being a native to the state it really resonated with me and I find it quite beautiful. I had to share it with the Fly Talk readers.

Enjoy, and if you would like more information on the song visit this website. Click here for more info on Justice Hobes and his poems.
