For as much anticipation as I had leading up to the past holiday weekend, it certainly didn’t last long. Seems like time goes by lightening fast when you’re having fun, but other times (like when I’m working) it just drags on, and on, and on. Over the three days I hiked through the woods, toasted an assortment of meats and sugared treats over a fire, and dunked a few lures and flies in the water. In a nutshell—it was a good weekend. One thing that occurred to me was no matter how hard I try to plan, I always forget something. Ninety percent of the time, I don’t leave anything at home, but this past weekend I missed a couple important items Bug spray and sunscreen are more important than I realized! So naturally, now that camping season is upon us, I’m curious what everyone else considers their “must-have-camp-items?” A pocket knife? Camelbak? What one or two things (besides the necessities like sleeping bags, a tent, food, etc.) do you never leave home without when you’re plans include sleeping outside? —Ben
