Is there such a thing as an unenjoyable topwater strike? Nope. Are there certain topwater strikes that trump all others? Yup. In my book, watching a 1,000-pound bluefin tuna eat on top would be the surface strike to end all surface strikes. I’d die happy seeing a single fish do it once. The guys in this video watched dozens of fish go batty for quite a while. They even took the hooks off the plug because the strike, not the five-hour fight, was the real reward for them. Just be warned…you may never look at a bass eating a Jitterbug the same way again.
