From the New Hampshire Union Leader:

_A person swiped Ted Williams’ hunting license and personal notes on local fishing holes during an auction preview in Swanzey on Thursday.

_The stolen items drew strong interest and could have brought up to $1,000 or more during yesterday’s auction, according to auctioneer John Pappas. . . .

“Someone jumped the gun unfairly and didn’t play by the rules,” said Rep. Steve Lindsey, D-Keene, who attended. “The room was filled with a sense of betrayal among the sportsmen contingent.”
