From the Great Falls Tribune:
_Montana wolves, protected predators for more than three decades, will become prey today as the state’s first-ever wolf hunting season gets under way, beginning with four backcountry areas. . . .
Wolf hunting will be allowed first west of the Continental Divide in the Bob Marshall and Scapegoat wildernesses and the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness near Yellowstone National Park. . . . Wolf hunting on a broader scale will come later, beginning Oct. 25, in conjunction with the general big-game hunting season.
