Feral pigs are running hog wild in Mississippi, and now the state game and fish department is encouraging hunters to shoot them wherever, whenever, however and with whatever they want.

From this story on wlbt.com:
_The rules about shooting wild hogs have been greatly relaxed by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks. A Copiah County man has managed to trap several of them. The hogs were captured last Friday afternoon in rural Copiah County, near Georgetown, by area resident Tony Hammons. He showed how determined the hogs can be when they are captured in a trap. Hammons captures them on a regular basis and kills and eats them. But he is the first to warn you that they can be dangerous.

__”They will attack you just like that too. You corner one and he will hurt you” said Hammons. We also received these pictures from viewers of hogs on the loose in the city of Clinton. The Mississippi Department of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks has gotten so many complaints about the wild hogs destroying crops and taking over the countryside in some areas that virtually all of the rules against shooting them have been removed. “24/7 every day” said Wildlife biologist Chad Dacus. “They can hunt hogs now at night, during the day, there are no weapon restrictions to hunt hogs, because we in the agency realize how bad of a problem it is.”_
