Shooting Bears in their Dens May Soon be Illegal in Colorado

The hunter in this story from cbsnews.com who recently tagged a potential record black bear in Colorado came under scrutiny after it was revealed he shot the bruin in its den. Though the hunter violated no laws, there was such uproar over the ethical questions at hand that the practice may soon be deemed illegal. When the state's wildlife commission next meets it will consider a proposal to completely ban the shooting of bears in their dens.

From this AP story on KDVR.com:
_Bears could be off-limits for hunters while they're in dens under a proposal being considered in Colorado. Colorado wildlife managers are considering banning den hunting. The ban was proposed after a northwest Colorado hunter sparked outrage last month by climbing 6 feet into a bear's den and killing the 703-pound black bear.
