Interesting video here from the Wall Street Journal about ice shanties, of all things. And why is the Journal talking ice shacks? Because these are nicer and more spacious than the average New York City apartment, and cost as much as a really nice, fairly large, new boat. Now, I think ice shanty culture is awesome, but for me this is a bit much. Seems to me like moving locations would be more of a pain, but maybe when you have a poker table and a flat screen, you really don’t care what you’re catching. I will admit that the shanty with the hole in front of the toilet is pretty clever. And on a final note, where does the Wall Street Journal get off saying most people think of ice fishermen as “grumpy old men in flannel hats?” Have a great weekend.
