From The Gainesville Sun:
_A Haines City man, serving probation for beheading a prized breeding buck last year, found out this was one deer worth a lot of dough.
_
_Union County Judge David Reiman ordered Dustin Cole Jernigan to pay $68,000 in restitution Wednesday for killing the deer, the State Attorney’s Office reported. . . .
[T]he deer, named Peabody, was no ordinary buck.
_
Peabody was a 12-point stud deer from Shadd’s Game Farm outside Lake Butler. The captive, domestic animal, which weighed about 220 pounds and was 3 years old, was considered a trophy buck.
