Discussion Topic: Ohio Man Busted With Canned Deer

According to this WKKJ News story, Rob McCarley of Circleville, Ohio, paid $12,500 to shoot a hunting-preserve trophy buck with a rifle, and then tried to pass it off as a free-range deer at a check station, saying he killed it with a longbow. Why? Well, he’s killed seven trophies that qualified for Buckeye Big-Buck-Club honors and apparently wanted to make it eight. Of course authorities discovered that at least on of the other seven was a preserve buck, too. In the end, McCarley will pay a $250 fine, lose his license for three years, and write an apology.

There are a week’s worth of discussion topics here, but I’ll just keep it simple: What is the matter with people?
