These 43 shots are the funniest, strangest, and otherwise most unusual trail cam photos entered into last year's wildly popular Trail Cam Photo Contest (click here to see a separate gallery of the 50 best bucks, and here to see a separate gallery of the 50 best non-deer critter shots).
Do you have a great trail cam photo? Enter it into our 2009 contest for a chance to win gear from Field & Stream! We're giving away prizes for the best trail cam photos entered each month, and you get to pick the winners! This month's top photo (entered by midnight on September 30) wins an Aimpoint 9000 sc red dot sight. The top four runners-up win an Aimpoint-engraved Sling Blade knife from EKA.
At the end of the year we'll award one grand prize to our editors' overall favorite. We'll also hand out four special Rut Behavior Bonus awards: one each for the best photo of 1. a buck making a scrape, 2. a buck making a rub, 3. bucks fighting, and 4. bucks breeding does.

Those are all great shots I hope those are doe's in pic # 36 What a great shot
These are the kind of shots a person behind a camera would wait a lifetime to catch, if they were lucky. This shows us what new technology can also give us not just in the form of awe but including laughter as well. Love those trail cams!

I couldn't be any more creeped out by the clown in 31.
Lon Cheney said "there is nothing scarier than a clown after midnight" True, but one in the deer woods is a close second!!
For those of you who are creeped out by the red-tail clown, rest easy blood brothers. I took one last year durring early archery season. (montec G5 head, Martin Cougar Magnum, Beeman carbon shafts) IF you should choose to persue this game, They are easy to recognize when approaching the stand ( clomp, clomp of oversized shoes) Aim for the flower ( the one that squirts, on his lappel) and they travel in packs (usually 20-25 of them in a very small car.
One word of caution. These are a trophy-only animal. I did process one last year and tried various ways to cook it ut all of my buddies agreed ( you new this was coming....)
No matter what you do, they taste funny.
Trig
