Gabe Vasquez

Congressman Gabe Vasquez represents New Mexico’s 2nd District, where he is a champion for conservation and the protection of public lands. A lifelong outdoorsman and the grandson of a conservationist, Gabe grew up fishing and hunting across southern New Mexico—experiences that shaped his deep commitment to protecting public lands for future generations. He recently co-founded the bipartisan Public Lands Caucus in Congress and has worked for organizations like HECHO, the Western Conservation Foundation, and the New Mexico Wildlife Federation to ensure Latino communities have a seat at the table in conservation policy. Gabe is a hunter and an angler and enjoys hunting and fishing all across the state. From Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks to the Gila Wilderness, he’s working to protect the natural places that are vital to New Mexico’s culture, economy, and way of life.
