Q:
I'm planning a trip to Alaska the second half of July next year. Does anyone have suggestions for outfitters who will do a day or two of guiding for Salmon and suggestions for a Charter Boat to do a day of Saltwater. Looking to fly into Anchorage and motor to Homer (I think). Would be okay with a fly in or boat for the Salmon, just so long as I can get away from the crowds without breaking the bank. Thanks!

http://www.glaciersedge.net/ This is the link to Glaciers edge charters in Seward. This charter captain really knows his stuff. You can go to my photo files by clicking my username then look lower right and check out the fish we caught on the Melinda Rose his 33 ft boat. I lived in AK for 3.5 years and this guy is the best I ever went out with. Homer is good for Halibut but Seward is good for Halibut Salmon, rock bass and my favorite eating fish the Ling Cod. There are also pics from Cpt Mike's charters in Homer. We absolutely killed the Halibut there. Late July the Silver Salmon will be running in Resurrection bay near Seward, Halibut and Ling Cod should be good then also. BTW Seward is closer to Anchorage and the sightseeing is much better than Homer too. If you want a really big King Salmon you will be about 2 weeks too late for the second run on the Kenai River. Go to Seward you will be glad you did. I have been to both places several times.
