Old wooden clothespins on a #9 wire at varying distances with all my rifles.they spin or fly to pieces. Fisherman 14 what about the broken glass? Freeze some 2 liter bottles and cut them out and shoot the ice it you want to see stuff fly.Good shooting

you just put a tarp under the bottle and clean it up easily. But it can be a little dangerous so shoot from a pretty far distance.

Agree with the ballons, my wife is not a hunter but has enjoyed shooting my youth compound at ballons stuck onto my targets in the back yard. Apples and pumpkins go along with autumn, when I am usually spending more time shooting and were always available from the garden and backyard. Shooting a soda can around with a .22 (with a good backstop) is also plenty of cheap fun and a good way to practice target acquisition.
rotten eggs, small pieces of quarts and granite, pine cones, hickory nuts, tomatoes, apples, jugs or buckets filled with water, pieces of sea shell, .223 casings.
A local gun club has an Easter egg shoot every year. Decorate the eggs, run a string through them, and hang 6 at 200 yards. Blast away. Fewest shots and shortest time to destroy all eggs win. Fun with a wind. Found out that factory .204 Rugers go right through the eggs that were boiled too long. Would use Varmint Grenades next time.
Necco wafers...cheaper than clay and biodegradable. Agree with many other great ideas: balloons, paper plates, clays, potatoes, water-filled beverage bottles, aluminum cans, etc. Bring a trash bag to clean up the mess, then lock'n'load and have a great time!
Also the stickers of dry wall cut up into squares they explode into white dust with a rifle at 100 yards. By the way stickers are the pieces of laminate dry wall under a skid of dry wall so you can get the fork of a lift under the skid. Next time you go to home depot grab one and ask if you can have it. They will usually let you have it.
I had repeated negative experiences with "law enforcement officer" who was otherwise confused as well. Thought his Brittany was a Springer. Thought he wanted to go duck hunting. Guess it was a spelling error.
clay pigeons, pop cans, milk jugs filled with water, golf balls, squirrels, eggs, and I've tried the small propane tanks but all they do is hiss and shoot propane out of the hole, but it is still fun to see.
DON"T shoot old tires with a shotgun!!! My buddy and I tried it, we were dumb enough to try it, sure it was a blast until the BBs started flying by us!!! At least I have learned from my dumb times....
My favorite is a fly target with ten house flies on it (free from 6mmbr.com). Good for a 100 yard challenge. I also used to have fun with bricks set on fence posts out to 600 yds. You don't have any trouble seeing a hit.
I use balloons, milk jugs full of water, pop bottles full of water, water bottles, anything I can find, but recently I have really enjoyed hitting old medicine containers (the orange bottles from prescription medication comes in) full of water with my air rifle I really don't know why though.
I have heard a container of shaving cream is really cool to hit too.

Baseballs. We race them with a .22 semi.
Often my son will have a party and one of his college buds will leave some cheap beer in the fridge. Shak'em up and let the lead fly.
Do the same but with golfballs.
