Yosemite. Arguably the best spot in the continintal united states.

Desolation wilderness above the Tahoe Basin. Go in at the Echo Lake trail head and take a few days to work your way down to Fallen Leaf Lake.

I will never forget coming out and down toward Fallen Leaf Lake during Autumn's first snow fall in 1973.

I have spent many days traversing the Sierras with fly rod in hand. I have yet to find a bad spot.

Buckhunter makes a good point. That whole area is pockmarked with small lakes that were full of trout when I was last there so long ago. They won't go for spinner baits, but will suck in a dry fly in a heartbeat.
