The Brits had no particular role in taking Berlin, the only armies in that fight was the Russians and whatever was left of the Wermact.
Besides the Enfield SMLE and Mark 4 rifles, the Brits did carry the Sten and the Bren as well. The PIAT was the issue anti tank weapon and a gawdawful contraption of a spigot mortar and a grenade launcher it was.
But it was the victorious Red Army that took Berlin, the Western Allied actually held back to give the Russians the honor of the taking, partially because the Russians had lost so much more at the hands of the Nazis than the other Allies, they wanted blood revenge- and took it. The other reasons likely had more to do with the Russian agents and sympathisers embedded in the Western Allies command structure. Stalin was as much of a beast as Hitler was, perhaps even bloodier, but he was better at lying, cheating, bullying and generally manipulating people than FDR or Churchill ever were, so he got his way a lot. May the ghosts in the Katyn forest harry him through Hel till Ragnarock come.
