Q:
Has anyone used, or own a Sears & Roebuck Mod 42 rifle (.22 Magnum)? It needs a good cleaning before I head out to the range but I'm curious to know if anyone has used one and what they thought of it.

I know my grampa has a older Sears & Roebuck from when he was a boy but I'm not sure of the model, but its a .22 LR semi auto if thats of any importance.

All I could find quickly, hope it helps.

What year was the Sears Roebuck and CO model 25 22 caliber rifle made?

I have this rifle with the original scope and it still looks like it did when my dad purchased them for me and my brother. I believe the year was 1959 as it was a Chistmas present. I have used the gun a lot in my younger years and found the 22 short ammo was a little bit hard to use as it did not have enough blow back to shoot really rapid fire. It does a really good job with the long and long rifle rounds. I hope that this helps you. I will be passing this gun on to my grandsons and hope that they will get the use from it that I did. There were many squirrels that are now not alive today because of this gun.
