Q:
I have a black nylon stock Remington .22 cal rifle. The barrel and receiver assembly have a chrome like finish. There is a 60 stamped on the bottom of the stock. Does anyone know the history of this gun and it's approximate value?

I have one and it's not for sale.

Here is the info you requested Sir, 73's!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remington_Nylon_66

*Note: the barrel of the Nylon series has a floating barrel and because of this the use of a scope is futile! With open sights, one accurate rifle!!!!

I found this on the Remington Forum

Default Re: Remington Nylon 66
I stand corrected on the value. In recent years there has been much collector's interest in these nylons, and the values have gone up considerably since I last checked. A 66 in Vgood condition is about $250 now. Add 100% for black and 175% for green stocks. A collector, filling a void in his collection, may be willing to pay more.

Buddy of mine has one of these from our childhood days and I sent him the link to this post. He said he thought they gave about $30 for it, probably 40 years ago.
