Absolutely. A light to moderate rain is my favorite time. I won't go if it's a monsoon.

I sure agree about still hunting in a light rain. The noise is way down and your scent is easier to deal with. I've shot my 8 of my best bucks in a light rain.

I have a favorite seceret spot that I hunt only when there is a light rain or really damp morning because it's the only way I will ever get in there quietly.

Yep. I love hunting in the rain, it not only covers up some of your sound if its a light rain the big bucks seem to move almost every time.

ditto, most kinds of game too.

Stay out of the thick stuff, you will get drenched from the vegetation dumping collected water on you

Yes, hunting in a light rain can be great as it washes human scent and makes for some silent sneaking thru the woods while still hunting. While setting on the ground during light rain, I've have had deer walk up to me, smell my feet, before turning inside out and running away. This would've never happened had it not been raining. Deer will bed up during heavy rains and storms, but will move just before the storm hits and soon after the rains stop.

You betcha ! deer hunting in a light rain can be quite productive. deer don't seem to mind being wet but will hunker down in a heavy rain . so don you wet weather gear and get out there. remember to be extra careful using tree stand during wet weather.

If you do your homework and know where your deer migrate in bad weather (if their patterns change) i'd image you could increase your chances. I'd be curious to read any research completed on deer habits during approaching severe weather - Ice, High Wind, Heavy Rain.
It's hard to beat hunting turkey in a Missouri Thunderstorm, it just doesnt get any better.

Hunt RAIN OR SHINE but be careful.

Indeed!

I have been hunting deer & Bear for 55 years now,I still enjoy it

Hunting in the rain, Very productive if not the

most comfortable .To start with, rain creates noise that can drown out any noise you may make while
stalking your deer.

The rain will also wash away your scent, deer will often be found standing under cover of spruce or
other trees.Deer's senses of smell and hearing are
their b est means of eluding hunters.

Hunting, especially still hunting in the rain has produced some fine bucks for me over the years for
me. Hope this helps you.

Good hunting,
George Gates

Rain helps to quite the ground noise while walking, and
the deer tend to slow down in the Northwest area. WA state.

i have had great success with hunting in the rain, especially in archery season. i once walk up on a nice 8 point in an orchard during a heavy rain. i was walking with my hood up ,it was pouring, i got into the orchard and droped the hood and there he was, at about 12yd ! it seems to negate their radar and cleans the air. munching on apples ,he didn't know i was there

I'll stalk when it's raining. Deer seem to hold tight in heavy cover next to creeks and streams when it is raining. I have been sucessful in getting within bow range on numerous occassions.
