CZ 453 American, a bolt action with single set trigger, 22.5 inch barrel and walnut stock. My rifle and evey other one I have seen will stack bullets. It also has the feel of a centerfire rifle. The gun is also available in the CZ 452 without the set trigger.
I love an old open sighted single shot bolt action for just sitting around camp and plinking with friends. For hunting, my semi auto 10/22 with carbon fiber bull barrel and 3x9 Burris fills the bill. I also like to hunt and plink with my Ruger 22/45 semi auto pistol.
i like my dad's old remington speedmaster semi with open sights. i can get a lot of rounds out real fast for when i'm shoting at a running squirrel or something similar my buddies like my remington model 597 semi with a scope because it gets the bullets where you want 'em and still has a fast second shot so either of those i like a lot.
I would have to agree with clay, the old nylons in my opinion are just as good as 10/22s. I also have a savage mk II in left hand that has been a really good reliable gun.
I love my 10/22, i pimped it out with a trigger kit houge overmolded stock and green mountian barrel, it shoots better than any other gun i own or have ever shot.
I learned on a Winchester pump gun. It was great. Looking back, the good thing about it was that it forced us to slow down when shooting (unlike a semi-auto) but when we wanted to have fun we could shoot pretty quickly (unlike a blot gun). Still shoots great and great for small game hunting. This will be one of the guns I buy each of my kids.
Tricked out 10/22 and old but box stock Model 39. Clay unfortunately I sold both of my Nylon 66's years ago (a brown one and a black one). Have you seen what they sell for today? WOW
I LOVE my henry leaver action .22LR. it can hold plenty of ammo for those days you dont have time to reload cause your raining the squirrls. I swear by that gun and cant imagine using anything else.
The Marlin 60. Without a doubt the best .22 out of the box ever made. You can buy one for well under $150, put some bulk ammo in it and shoot anything you can see accurately. The Ruger 10/22 is a good rifle after you throw away the barrel, stock, trigger and sights and spend $400 on upgrades. Granted, the Marlin does not have the accesories that the Ruger does, but then again the Marlin doens't need any to be a tough, accurate and reliable rifle.
I've probably owned every gun ever made at one time or another and of all of them the Marlin 60 is my favorite.
The Ruger 10/22 is a must have. It is of great value and it wont break the bank either.I have never been dissapointed in it though it does lack some stopping power, it doesnt need much it just needs a person who can shoot it well enough to make a good, clean kill
