The moultrie cameras are very reliable and have great battery life. My only complaints are that the strap/clasp is junk and some nightime pics antlers appeared smudged. I put the picture quality from low to normal and that seems to help with the smudging though. Overall good cameras

I purchased a moultrie not to long ago to replace my stealthcam and I love it. It takes excellent photos and has an impressive night time range. The camera is very simple to use. I am also impressed by the battery life of my camera. I've had it out for over three months straight and haven't yet had to change the batteries since I bought it. The only disappointment is the mounting strap, it frays very quickly and seems to slip very easily. But it is an awesome camera.

Can't speak for the I45 but the I40 is not what it's advertised. I'm on my third one and I hope this one will work for a reasonable amount of time. First two the LCD display starts to have lines in it. The first one would not do video at all. The second one had pictures with problems either too grainy, half B/W and half color, or just plain out of focus. Had gotten a solar charger and it too had problems, the charging circuit failed in less than 1 year, got a new one also. I like the advertised capabilities just wish they would live up to what they advertised. They do replace the unit when sent back just 4-6 weeks without your game camera does not make for a happy camper. I do not recommend the I40 at all, especially for the price.

these cams will hold up to a 4g sd card and if you put the seting to enhanced you can still get 2000 pics taken and the quality is much much better

Additional Info

When trail cameras were first introduced, they used film, not SD cards; shutter speeds were slow; and nighttime shots were grainy. Despite slimmer profiles, today's digital cams have video options, infrared flash, and the ability to store thousands of color pictures. Some models even let you access them remotely. We asked manufacturers to submit units in the midlevel price range, and our test panel graded them on image quality, battery life (though testing time was limited), construction and design, and ease of operation. Here's how they fared.
