Be Your Own Bow Tech, Part 2: Install a Capture Rest

By Dave Hurteau

I hated, hated to keep you all waiting for Part 2. But I was forced (forced!) to go to Colorado and shoot an elk. Part of the new economy, you know, where everyone is asked to do more. Dave, go shoot this. Dave go hunt that….

Anyway, in Part 1 (click here if you missed it), I explained how I tricked the nice but gullible folks at Bowtech into doing some video work for me.

That installment explained how to determine your correct draw length and weight. This one, Part 2 in our ongoing series, describes how to install a capture rest and set up the center-shot to help get you on target quickly. Enjoy.

Just got back from Colorado myself. Saw plenty of elk. Had several in range... just too small. My intent was the shoot anything but after seeing several larger bulls I went into trophy mode.
